BELARUSIAN STATE UNIVERSITY OF PHYSICAL CULTURE (BSUPHC) the unique establishment ruled by Ministry of Sport and Tourism, training the specialists in the field of physical culture and sport. Nowadays, the University is the leading educational establishment in the branch of physical culture, sport and tourism, the most important scientific, methodological and research center of the Republic Belarus, which obtained the international recognition. There are all kinds of preparation: preparatory department, higher education and post graduate studies. The University maintains and expands various contacts in the sphere of physical culture and sport; training the specialists; scientific researches; methodological and informational exchange with a number of educational establishments from abroad. There are the Agreements of Cooperation and close cooperation with the establishments of sport profile from different countries, such as Poland , Germany , Russia , Turkey , Ukraine , Lithuania , Latvia , Japan , Sweden . The fact that 7 specialists of the University are the members of International Sport Federations gives evidence that the University obtained the international recognition. There are 160 World and Europe champions among the University students and graduates. There are Olympic Champions graduated from the University, such as: Svetlana Boginskaya, Vitaly Scherbo, Marina Lobach (gymnastics), Aleksandr Medved, Oleh Karavaev (wrestling), Vladimir Kaminsky, Oleh Logvin (cycling), Aleksandr Romankov (fencing), Romuald Klim, Ellina Zvereva, Yanina Korolchik (track and field athletics), Vladimir Parfenovich, Ekaterina Karsten (rowing), etc. Some of the Olympic champions work in the University today: Elena Belova professor of Pedagogy and Psychology Department; Romuald Klim professor of Track and Field Department; Vladimir Kaminsky professor of Cycling, Skating and Equestrian Department; Irina Ushakova (silver winner of Olympic Games) - associated professor of Fencing, Boxing and Weight-lifting. There are 4 faculties, 25 sub-faculties; Institute of Tourism; Center of physical education development, Center of Information Technology Development; Center of non-medical health-oriented technologies; Center of Intercultural Communications; Institute of retraining and raising the level of leading workers skills for physical culture, sport and tourism; library; administration and auxiliary subdivision. The University has in its disposal: two educational and sport buildings, a comfortable hostel, educational and health-oriented camp Chayka. There are 9 covered gyms and 7 open sport courts in the University. Specialized practice laboratories, rooms, building spaces, museums (anatomy museum, ethnographic museum, museum of physical culture and sport history of BSUPHC). |
